  • Biggest shopping center in the Pomerania region
  • Investment of Euro 140 million
  • 200 new shops

Galeria Baltycka, the biggest shopping center in the Polish city of Gdansk, was opened on October 4th. After the official opening ceremony at 8 a.m. led by Pawel Adamowicz, the Mayor of Gdansk, the first customers have started shopping. The construction of the Euro 140 million investment took only 18 months. The project partners are Deutsche EuroShop and ECE-Group. It is Deutsche EuroShop’s second shopping center in Poland besides the Galeria Dominikanska in Wroclaw.

The shopping center has been designed to become the new center of fashion, elegance and city life of the so called Tricity, consisting of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia. The 39,500 square meters of shopping space house 200 shops. The shops include well known brands, with over 30 that will be new to the Tricity. The visitors can rest and dine in 15 cafes and restaurants in Galeria Baltycka.

It can be easily reached by public transportation. It is conveniently situated at the important crossroads and the Gdansk-Wrzeszcz railway station. One can take the fast city train, bus or tram to get there. For those coming by car Galeria Baltycka offers almost 1,100 parking lots.

Galeria Baltycka will be opened seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m till 9 p.m., on Sundays from 10 a.m till 8 p.m. Many in the Tricity well-known brands are represented. On top of them about 30 brands will open their first shop in Gdansk like Zara, Peek&Cloppenburg, Biba, Tommy Hilfiger or Pepe Jeans. The consumer electronics retailer Saturn and the supermarket Carrefour are also anchor tenants of the Galeria Baltycka.

The center has a nice panoramic view to the neighbourhood and the Baltic Sea from the upper levels of the parking lot. The landscape has been the source of inspiration for the architectural design of the center. The outer walls of Galeria Baltycka are fitted with sandstone and glass panes relating to the water in Gdansk Bay. One of the main inside shopping malls includes maritime motifs, while the other has warm sand and beach colours. The malls form a triangle whose corners and the center constitute plazas with a lot of natural light.
